What Age is a 8ft trampoline for?

We recommend children to be the age of 6 or older when using an 8ft trampoline.. This is because their body is still developing and not strong enough to control their jumping, stability and balance. If you are looking for a trampoline for a small child then it maybe a case that a 6ft trampoline is a better alternative

This is advised by ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) who advise on preventing accidents in the UK for all situations as well as trampoline brands such as Plumplay.

Infact, Plum have a special range of trampolines for under 6 that are specially made to accommodate children bodies that are still developing and not yet strong enough to bounce on a 8ft trampoline.

The Sportspower 8ft Garden Trampoline with Enclosure

This quirky coloured orange trampoline is available from Argos and a great price to for possible your first garden trampoline?

A great way for your children and their friends to keep fit and have fun outdoors away from the danger of the roads and in the safety of your back garden. The Sportspower 8ft trampoline has a Quad Lok frame which is very easy to take down in a short space of time.

The springs give a great bounce and can take a maximum weight of 100kg which is significantly higher than other trampolines we have reviewed on this page. Depending on an adult’s weight, this could accommodate both children and adults when jumping. 100kg in stone equates to 15.7 stone so if you are a parent, then you could easily add to the fun for the family and use this to.

As with many other styles and makes from different manufactures, this also comes with the reinforced frame which has been accomplished using galvanised steel along with their own Quad Lok system for additional safety. As we recommended to also purchase a trampoline with a safety enclosure, even if buying 2nd hand then you can see this comes with a strong netting to prevent children falling off onto the ground.

The galvanised frame gives strength but also provides strong resistance against rust, the top ring holds the netting up and gives an overall excellent shape to this trampoline. We do recommend a significant space around any trampoline in your garden to prevent any collisions, so its great to see Sportspower as a manufacturer suggesting a 2m gap allowance around the whole of the trampoline and a 8m distance between the trampoline and any overhanging trees or telephone and especially power lines.

Assembly time for this has been suggested to give 2 hours with 2 adults performing the assembly. With a diameter of 244cm, this has a maximum weight of 42.5kg so a good sturdy weight for windy days however you can purchase a tie down kit for any trampoline available on the market.

The age range suggested by Sportspower is 6 years of over but we do suggest an adult to always be present or nearby when children are jumping and only one person be it child or adult on the trampoline at one time. Full dimensions for this version is 242cm in height, 244cm in width and  a depth of 244cm.

The Kanga 8ft Trampoline and Include and Included Ladder and Anchor Kit – 2021

Now this is something you don’t see very often, a manufacturer of an 8ft trampoline that has included both the ladder for children to climb onto their trampoline but also an anchor kit to prevent or at least help prevent the trampoline moving in strong winds.

Kanga is not a range that has become as large as other manufacturers such as Plum but this has a good rating so we can see them going far in time.

Kanga have gone that extra mile already, a great trampoline for young children and the accessories but also they have created a range of videos on YouTube with instructions on how to assemble their trampoline.

The diameter of this is around 40cm smaller than other makes, coming in at 202cm, 60cm for the frame from the ground with the enclosure being 165cm so 225cm for the full height from top to bottom.

This trampoline weights 29kg so an average weight and a total of 48 strong springs with3 legs. What’s great is this also has a maximum user weight of 100kg which is excellent considering it’s only an 8ft and not a 10 or 12ft sized alternative.

Is a 8ft Trampoline Big Enough?

8ft Trampolines are an ideal size for your first trampoline, especially if you have a small to medium sizes garden or your children are at the young age range such as 4-12 years. If they are younger, there are a even smaller range of trampolines for children under the age of 4 where an adult should always be supervising.

Trampolines for under 4 are designed to take even more impact away from the child’s body as they are still developing even more than children over the age of 4.

If your children are over the age of 12, then a 10ft or larger trampoline maybe more beneficial. Even if a 8ft trampoline is ideal at the moment, children as we know grow up very quick so it can be worth looking into a large trampoline, it all depends on the age and size of your children and your personal preference.

How much weight can an 8ft trampoline hold?

This can be a wide range in weight as it depends on the make and design of the trampoline. The weight though can span between 75kg and 85kg.

As examples, the trampoline here https://www.madfun.co.uk/8ft-zero-gravity-ultima-4-trampoline-enclosure has a maximum weight of 75kg. However the trampoline here – https://www.tptoys.com/collections/8ft-trampolines/products/tp-hip-hop-trampoline can take 85kg in weight.

This is approximately around 13.3 stone so an 8ft trampoline is strong enough to take a child up to the age of

Where Can I Buy a 8ft trampoline?

We have been involved in the Outdoor Toy industry for a decade and great friends with Madfun.co.uk however the range of 8ft trampolines below come from a range of high quality UK based trampoline manufacturers and retailers.

Below are a range of retailers in the UK we recommend.

Patent 3G design to protect children from the springs

How much does a 8ft trampoline cost?

A 8ft trampoline is on the smaller size of the trampoline range for your garden. The price usually spans between £150 and £300 for a trampoline that also includes a safety net and enclosure. However, you can at times find a special offer that starts around the £120 with some including a free ladder or coder, or both.

How Many Children Can Use an 8ft Trampoline?

Trampoline manufactures generally recommend that only one child or adult should bounce on a trampoline at once time. There are around 13,000 trampoline accidents each year which the majority of these occurring with 15 years or younger.

You can read more here at the RoyalBerkshire

When you take into the energy used to bounce as well as keep balance, its easy for two or more children on a trampoline to collide and possible accidents to happen. Simplyfun also recommends one child or adult on am 8ft trampoline at one time.

Can Adults use a 8ft Trampoline?

The weight limit for a 8ft trampoline with an enclosure can range from 75kg upwards with some having a maximum weight of around 100kg such as the Kanga Premium. Even higher is the maximum weight of 150kg for the Playactive so ideal for adults.

However please bear in mind that for safety reasons, only one person at a time should bounce on a trampoline. This also means it is not advisable for children and adults to jump on a trampoline at the same time.

What Size of Garden Do I need for an 8ft Trampoline?

An 8ft trampoline is generally around 240-245cm in diameter. However when children fall into the trampoline net it stretches. This is why it’s recommended by many trampoline manufactures to have at least 3 foot space from the trampoline and the nearest obstacle. This can be your home, walls, greenhouses, sheds and trees.

We have seen one manufacture recommended a 2 meter gap between your trampoline and any of the structures mentioned above.

What Age is Suitable for an 8ft Trampoline?

A 8ft trampoline is designed for children from the age of 6 to 12 but this also can relate their way to as they can hold between 75kg and 100kg depending on the make of trampoline. Please check each trampolines details on this page but more importantly on the retailers page before you purchase any trampoline be it a 8ft or larger sized option.
